Guidelines for the SJCS ’89 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

1. The applicant must be a DIRECT descendant (child or grandchild) of an SJCS ’89 teacher. An SJCS ’89 teacher is a teacher who handled any class of SJCS ’89 from June 1976 to March 1989 or was a head teacher or assistant head teacher during the covered period.
   
   Proof of relationship will be required through NSO Birth Certificates.
   
   In case of adoption, it must be a legal and official adoption.
   
   
2. The scholarship will cover the official expenses for any four-year degree (except culinary courses) in a CHED accredited local university or college.  International schools are not included.  An official statement of account must be presented and the payment will be made directly by the sponsor to the school.
   
   
3. The scholarship is open to any student in college or entering college during the school year 2015 -2016.  In case the chosen applicant is not a freshman, the scholarship will cover the remaining years.
   
   
4. In case a deposit has been made or the tuition for the school year 2015 – 2016 has been paid, the scholar will be reimbursed for this upon presentation of the official receipt.
   
   
5. The chosen scholar must maintain an above average GPA or QPI each semester.  If the scholar has a failing general average at the end of any semester, the scholarship will be withdrawn immediately. The scholar must present proof of grades at the end of each term or semester.
   
   
6. The chosen scholar must be of good moral character.  If there are legal or moral issues that might arise during the duration of the scholarship, the sponsor has the right to withdraw his sponsorship.
   
   
7. The sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship in case of fraud.

3. Two Letters of Recommendation from the applicant’s teachers / professors / school administrator
4. Transcript of Grades or Report Cards for High School/ College
   Photocopies accepted but originals might be required at a later date.
5. 2 x 2 picture
6. Parents’ ITR
7. Short Essay – Why I Should be Chosen as the SJCS ’89 Scholar
